Council votes 5–2 to lay over redevelopment item amid reported VA interest

Council members debated whether to delay (lay over) consideration of a CRA/redevelopment item tied to a center-mall property that currently has a buyer and seller under contract. Law Department counsel Matt Cousy told council that the Veterans Administration had expressed interest in the site and recommended a delay so the federal interest could be evaluated before the council took action.
