The Washington County Board of County Commissioners elected Greg Matherly as chair during its organizational meeting on Sept. 10, 2026 at the George P Jaynes Justice Center. Commissioner Jim Wheeler nominated Matherly; Commissioner Kenneth Huffine moved to close nominations and elect Matherly by acclamation, and Commissioner Jodi Jones seconded the motion. The motion passed on an all-yes voice vote recorded by the clerk.
