Trustees and the superintendent discussed the district's use of WIDA scores to determine exit from multilingual-learner (ML) services, noting the district average WIDA score of about 4.0 and a recent rise in ML enrollment. One trustee summarized: "What I'm hearing is...we are considering maybe reverting to the state standard or closer to the state standard and not keeping them in our ML classes for that long," and asked whether that understanding was correct.
