Lenox Township requested the village share in its Fourth of July fireworks costs. Officials reported the event’s total cost had grown from an original estimate of roughly $10,000–$12,000 to $20,000; sponsorships reduced the amount, and the village’s requested share was discussed. President said, "I feel like it's fair for us to pay the 8,500," while other trustees argued the board did not approve the request earlier. Council ultimately moved to deny the invoice and carried the motion on roll call.
