The Las Animas County board unanimously approved Nov. 5 a letter of support for a pipeline relocation at the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site intended to help the U.S. Army use its existing base more effectively. Commissioner Luis A. Lopez II summarized a year-and-a-half-long effort and said the county’s intent is to assist the Army so it would not need to pursue acquisition or eminent domain for adjacent lands.
