Burke County authorized filing three county vacancies, approved two School Resource Officer positions and allowed the Sheriff to make other hires with corresponding budget amendments; most hiring approvals passed unanimously.

Manager Merv Waldrop asked the Board to authorize filling vacancies for Supervisor of Elections, an Animal Services Officer, and the Public Works Director; each request was approved unanimously. After an executive session the Board also approved filing two School Resource Officer (SRO) positions and authorized the Sheriff to hire additional personnel provided budget amendments move funds into the salary line; that motion passed unanimously.
