County officials reviewed an updated payroll and overtime status report at the Jan. 23 meeting. The sheriff reported that jail overtime totaled 1,340 hours — a marked improvement from prior pay periods that reached roughly 3,500 hours — and said bringing personnel back into the jail should reduce overtime further when staffing stabilizes. "The total overtime, in the jail was 1340 hours," the sheriff said during the presentation.
