Commissioners adopt animal-control fee schedule and ordinance on first reading

Commissioners reviewed a new animal-control fee schedule prepared by county staff and approved it by motion. Staff noted the schedule includes typical charges (impoundment, reclaiming fees, medical costs when animals are injured or ill, and adoption fees that include spay/neuter and microchip costs). One staff member said the adoption fees cover vaccinations and other services.
