Village adopts updated procurement policy to streamline routine purchases

The Board adopted Resolution No. 2026-05 updating procurement rules so the Clerk/Treasurer, Director of Public Works, and Chief of Police can make routine purchases within budget without seeking individual board approval; large capital projects will still require board authorization.

The board approved Resolution No. 2026-05 on May 13 to replace the Village's 2017 procurement policy with an updated framework intended to improve operational efficiency. Clerk Shawna Atterbury said the change will permit the Clerk/Treasurer, Director of Public Works, and Chief of Police to make routine purchases within their approved budgets without bringing every expenditure to the board for approval; capital projects and large purchases will still require board authorization.
