Fremont votes to join countywide $1,000,000 engineering study on natural gas service

The Fremont board voted to participate in a countywide $1,000,000 engineering service agreement with NIPSCO to study expanding natural gas service; Fremont's initial share was described as about $59,067.81 and the county will lead the project and invoice municipalities quarterly.

Fremont agreed to participate in a countywide engineering service agreement with NIPSCO intended to study bringing additional natural gas service to the county. Will Howard, who presented the plan, told the council the study cost is $1,000,000 and said Steuben County has committed $750,000.
