Council agrees to deed Bay Springs retention pond back to developer, with liability transfer condition
DeFuniak Springs council approved deeding a retention pond adjacent to the Sunstop back to the developer, on condition the developer accepts all liabilities, permits, and maintenance obligations associated with the pond.

Council approved a staff request to deed a retention pond for the Bay Springs commercial parcel back to the developer at the July 13 meeting. Staff said the pond had been deeded to the city several years earlier but serves drainage for the adjacent development; returning it to the developer would reduce city maintenance obligations and might free the site for future commercial use.
