Commission discusses Youth Justice Oversight implementation and flagged budget risk
Members said the Youth Justice Oversight Committee has moved from planning to implementation but warned of potential budget cuts for YJOC administration and emphasized help for rural communities to access grants.

Mark Fairfield and other commission members described the Youth Justice Oversight Committee's transition from planning into implementation. "It did its work. It made its plans. The grant pools were created," Mark said, and the commission is now focusing on supporting local communities to access and use those grants. He stressed that applying for and administering grants requires capacity-building and technical assistance, particularly for rural counties.
