Sep 1, 2026
County IT and HR officials reported that the Workday Human Capital Management rollout (go-live Dec. 2025) cut payroll processing time by 85%, replaced legacy systems and enabled more paperless transactions, though some remote-site timekeeping questions remain.

Mark Gager, project sponsor for the county’s Workday human-capital and payroll implementation, told the court the system went live Dec. 20, 2025 and has since produced measurable operational gains: consolidation of legacy HR systems, more than 907,000 logins, and an "85% reduction in payroll processing time." He said the project reduced or eliminated about 68,000 pieces of payroll paper annually and enabled 49,000 paperless updates across direct deposit, withholding and contact information.
