Board approves 6-foot rear-yard variance for Heigelmann deck

The Avon BZBA approved a 6-foot rear-yard variance to allow construction of a 16-by-32-foot deck with a covered portion at 35927 Hanamar Drive; the project's plan was presented by the contractor and the motion passed unanimously.

Rob Stipe, project manager for ETF Restoration, presented a proposal on behalf of applicants Zachary and Kayla Heigelmann for a new 16-by-32-foot rear deck with a covered portion measuring 24-by-16 feet. Stipe described the work and the Exhibit 1 drawing; the board recorded the variance request to reduce the required 50-foot rear-yard setback to 44 feet (a 6-foot variance). "The project consists of building a 16-by-32-foot deck on the rear of the property," Stipe said.
