Atkinson council approves building, moving and tear-down permits

The Atkinson City Council approved three separate permit requests at its Oct. 7 meeting. The council approved a building permit for George Milbourn to construct a 24' x 21' x 8' steel frame building at 508 West Pearl Street (motion carried unanimously). The council also approved a moving permit for Joel Heller to move an 8' x 20' x 8'6" shipping container from Highway 20 in O'Neill to 411 South Belle Street; council discussion noted Ordinance 1068 (passed May 5, 2014) allows freight containers in I-1, I-2 and TA districts and the destination property is in the I-1 district. Helen Olson recorded the lone Nay vote on the moving permit.
