Planning staff sets general-plan timeline; council asks for public workshop

Planner Thomas told the council the draft general plan will be presented to the planning commission for a workshop on Sept. 17, then to the planning commission for a formal hearing on Oct. 15; the planning commission would then make a recommendation to the council. He recommended the town council hold an initial public hearing and work session on Nov. 12 and adopt or reject the plan at the Dec. 10 meeting. "We would recommend that the town council have an initial public hearing, kind of a work session where they hear the recommendations for the general plan on November 12," Thomas said.
