The Blasting Advisory Board voted by voice to appoint a volunteer as secretary at its Sept. 28 meeting in Miami Lakes after a committee member agreed to take the role. "I'll give it a shot," the volunteer said when asked to serve; the chair then asked for and received assent from the board.
