The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 23 to set the county's final tax request for fiscal year 2026–27. According to the minutes, "Motion by Mellage, second by Hall to adopt Resolution #2026-34 which sets the Final Tax Request of 0.283034 per $100.00 of the assessed value for the Fiscal Year of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027." The motion passed by roll call (Weiss, Hall, Mellage).
