The Beadle County Commission on Sept. 1 held the provisional 2027 budget with no public in attendance and separately approved authorization for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to purchase a grassland easement using Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) monies. The motion to authorize the purchase was moved by Vice-Chair Jared Zerfoss and seconded by Commissioner Scott Slepikas; the minutes record the motion carried.
