Amy Ducharme, WIC director, gave an extended briefing on the program's operations, eligibility rules and services. She explained WIC is a USDA supplemental nutrition program for pregnant people, new mothers and children under 5, described monthly food-package options and specialty formula prescription rules, and said the program now allows tailored substitutions for families with dietary restrictions.
