The Atchison County Board of County Commissioners posted a notice that it "will not convene for its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026." The agenda, filed for the meeting at the Atchison County Courthouse, listed Chairwoman Casey Quinn (3rd District), Commissioner James Campbell (1st District) and Commissioner John Calhoon (2nd District) but did not state a reason for the cancellation.
