Commissioners push for monthly reports on outside counsel spending

Committee members agreed to require regular reporting from the law director on litigation and outside counsel spending. Chair recalled prior practice that required monthly reporting: "she had to give a monthly report of pending cases and how much has been expended on each case," and suggested writing that requirement into the new contract so the commission and the public can track outside counsel costs.
