Mayor Laurie Goodrich read three proclamations recognizing Recovery Month, Welcoming Week and Hydrocephalus Awareness Month and invited community participation. Kate, a member of the Johnson County Prevention Partnership who identifies as a person in recovery, accepted the Recovery Month proclamation and described her path to recovery, telling the council “recovery is possible and that is important and crucial.” Meg Schneider of the UI Addiction and Recovery Collaborative thanked the council for raising awareness.
