Cheney construction update: kitchen expansions advance, Craig Road Elementary foundation permitted
District construction staff and contractors told the board that kitchen expansions at Salina and Windsor are on schedule, switch-gear and lighting upgrades are planned for summer 2026, and the new Craig Road Elementary has received a foundation permit with GARCO targeting substantial completion July 22, 2026.

District construction and bond-program contractors gave the board a progress briefing on multiple projects funded by the district bond program. Lisa, a representative from Yuri, said work is proceeding on kitchen expansions at Salina Elementary (demo and footings complete) and that Windsor’s kitchen is scheduled to start in June; temporary power and switch-gear work are staged for summer 2026.
