Meriwether County adopts $27.98 million FY 2026–27 budget
The board adopted a FY 2026–27 general fund budget of $27,979,670.50, a 16.23% increase over FY 2025–26. The adopted plan includes $2,352,550.50 in committed LRA funds, a required fund balance draw of $1,516,105, a 3% merit pool for eligible employees, and staff additions focused on fire and EMS.

County staff presented the proposed FY 2026–27 budget and summarized major changes and staffing requests. "Commission is the proposed FY 2627 general fund budget totals $27,979,670.50," staff said, noting this represents a $3,906,348.50 (16.23%) increase over FY 2025–26 and includes $2,352,550.50 in committed Local Resource Allocation (LRA) funds.
