Nueces County adopts centralized grants process to tighten oversight

Commissioners on Aug. 19 adopted a countywide grants business process intended to standardize how grants are applied for, reviewed and administered. Staff said the new process creates front-end coordination with the grants office and GrantWorks and ensures back-end review by the auditor so the county does not become "blindsided" by grant commitments.
