Consultants for Meriwether County presented an analysis of the county's employee claims and the factors behind rising premiums at the April 13 meeting. "Specialty drugs...the cost of specialty drugs have risen over 15% annually," consultant Jacqueline Woodson said, and she singled out GLP‑1 drugs (used for diabetes and weight management) as a fast‑growing pharmacy cost driver.
