Council pauses repeat grant recipient, approves second house improvement grant
Council placed Marta Addo’s Exterior Beautification Grant application on hold until January because she received funds in the last fiscal year, and approved Tess Cochran’s application to repair the front of her home. Both actions were unanimous among members present.

The Afton City Council reviewed two Exterior Beautification Grant applications on Aug. 11. Councilor Kristie Nixon moved to put Marta Addo’s application on hold until January to allow others who have not recently received funds to apply; the motion passed 4–0 with Mayor Burger absent.
