Board tightens social-media use on county devices; personal devices allowed on break
Supervisors approved amendments to the county social media policy that prohibit use of social media on county-issued devices unless the employee is an authorized social-media user; personal-device use during breaks is still permitted.

The board passed an amendment to Policy 303 that restricts social-media use on county-owned devices to employees explicitly designated as authorized social-media users. Authorization requires an explicit IT request and form; the policy also recommends limiting social-media use on personal devices to break times to prevent use during work hours.
