Committee recommends $150,000 levy for 2027 bridge-aid program with $130,000 reserve

The Portage County Highway Committee reviewed five applications to the county's 2027 bridge-aid program — four in Tunnel Hall and one in the Town of Stockton — and recommended funding and design actions to advance projects to the next stage. "The total, cost for the bridge aid program is 390,000," the chair said when summarizing the applications and noted the committee recommended a $150,000 levy contribution to the program while preserving approximately $130,000 in reserves for emergency replacements.
