Portage County ADRC warns of budget shortfall, seeks savings in nutrition program
The Portage County Commission on Aging/ADRC reported a projected budget shortfall for this year and next and said it has cut nonessential items; staff flagged rising food and fuel costs and proposed exploring alternative procurement and delivery options for the nutrition program to lower costs in 2028.

The Portage County Commission on Aging and Aging & Disability Resource Center reported a projected deficit for the current year and indicated planning is underway for a larger gap in 2028. Chair said agency projections show the program is "being overspent a bit this year," a reversal from prior years when the agency returned funds to the levy.
