Council declines pool grant over deed restriction; will budget for liner instead

Council members reviewed conditions tied to a pool grant that would have prevented the town from resurveying the property and could have limited disposal or sale of the land unless it remained a recreation park. After discussion, Councilman Douglas Purdham moved that the town not pursue the grant and instead finance the pool liner in the 2027–2028 budget; Councilman Joseph Mauck seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
