The commission recognized hunter-education instructors and volunteers and heard a status update on the department's education programs. Pake Wise, the department's hunter-education coordinator, told commissioners the program is "on pace to certify about over 13,000 students this year," and that volunteers and a revised training curriculum are contributing to growth.
