Board approves BY2 iris recognition agreement for jail identification

The La Paz County Board of Supervisors voted to enter an agreement with BY2 Technologies to trial an iris-identification (IRIS) system intended to help identify inmates who are uncooperative or have multiple identities in the county system. A commander from county law enforcement explained the system's use and said the vendor will provide the system free for the first year; maintenance and support would cost $4,826.10 annually thereafter.
