On March 10, 2025, the Madelia City Council adopted a Housing Construction Loan Program policy designed to provide a tool for financing housing construction. Mark Slater (committee member) moved to approve the policy; Matt Gunderson (committee member) seconded, and the council voted 4-0 in favor.
