Larimer County says state funds and bonding will help start Prospect Energy well-plugging; completion targeted for June 2028

County planner Matt Lafferty said contractors will be hired to begin well-plugging at Prospect Energy sites; the state ECMC identified roughly $200,000–$300,000 in bonding from the prior operator to mobilize initial cleanup, and staff expect project completion by June 2028, weather permitting.
