Committee sets up assessments and engineering funds for accessible paving projects
The Public Works Committee approved resolutions to levy assessments and appropriate funds to construct accessible public improvements and to set up engineering funds for future accessible paving projects, with estimated engineering costs of $80,000 and total project estimates of about $1.025 million for the latter file.

The committee adopted multiple resolutions to finance accessible paving and other public improvements. Holly Rutenbeck of the Department of Public Works explained that for projects approved the city will bill impacted property owners after construction; property owners have 45 days to pay without interest and, if eligible, may pay over 10 years at 8.5% interest for assessments at or above $125.
