The Starr County Commission adopted a proposed property tax rate of 0.68613 at a special meeting and public hearing on Sept. 23 at the courthouse annex, the chair said. The chair opened the public hearing by proposing the cut from 0.7101 to 0.68613 and described the budget as "healthy."
