The mayor and city council unanimously adopted ordinance 2058 (text amendment 271) to align city code with updates to the Maryland Forest Conservation Act. Jay Meechie, the city's director of economic and community development, told the council the amendment "was supplied by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources," and the planning commission had recommended approval.
