The Alpine City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2026-10-03 authorizing the city to apply for flood mitigation funding through the Rio Grande Council of Governments using funds available from the Texas Water Development Board. The city manager said the funding could support planning, engineering, watershed protection and other measures to reduce flood risk.
