School district reports Murray Middle School construction progress and strong pre‑K gains
Martin County School District reported foundation work underway at Murray Middle School and that pre‑K programs served 540 students last year with kindergarten‑readiness (PM1) growing from 7% at the start to 76% at year end, which district leaders credited to coaching and community partnerships.

Mark Secrest, director of facilities and planning for the Martin County School District, reported that demolition of storm‑damaged buildings at Murray Middle School is complete and that foundations for the replacement two‑story building were poured the previous Monday. The new building will consolidate administration, media and classrooms and the district plans to expand the carline and parking after the current admin building is removed.
