Board accepts Henderson Farms' $521-per-acre bid for 152-acre lease

The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors accepted a bid from Henderson Farms for the lease of 152 acres at $521.00 per acre for a three-year term. The board opened farmland rent bids at 9:15 a.m.; bidders listed in the record were Hayden Weber, Henderson Farms (Erwin Henderson) and Apex Agriculture LLC (Ben Gosse). The initial bids were $325.00, $300.00 and $390.00 per acre, respectively, and bidders were allowed to raise their offers before the board voted to accept Henderson Farms' final amount.
