Following the board's acknowledgement of the vacancy, members agreed to an expedited schedule to solicit and review candidates. The chair said the county would post notice and accept resumes, and proposed a cutoff of Oct. 15 or Oct. 16 at 4:00 p.m.; she offered to coordinate with the local paper (the Resorter) and the county website to disseminate the announcement.
