Planning board forwards Oxbow Street vacation despite reviewer access concerns
The Charlotte County Planning and Zoning Board unanimously forwarded application VST-2603 to the Board of County Commissioners. Staff said the Oxbow Street vacation (originally platted as Orange Avenue) may be deemed consistent with the comprehensive plan although some reviewers flagged potential parcel access concerns.

On 2026-09-14 the Charlotte County Planning and Zoning Board voted unanimously to forward application VST-2603, a petition to vacate a portion of Oxbow Street (platted in 1911 as Orange Avenue) in a planned development area, to the Board of County Commissioners with a recommendation of approval.
