Board hears Route 41 planning update: two 400-unit projects and proposed roundabouts

Chairman Louis (Lou) Simone briefed the board on an Oct. 21 S.A.V.E. meeting where Lucy Gibson, a traffic engineer with Toole Design, outlined proposals to manage traffic on Route 41. Simone said two 400-unit residential projects are planned along Route 41—one in London Grove and one in the Avondale portion of the corridor—and that proposals include roundabouts at both directions of the Route 1/Route 41 interchanges and a roundabout in Chatham. Simone said there is a push for the five townships along Route 41 to coordinate planning and cited PA41.com as a resource.
