Commission to route moratorium template to townships, will map which have village powers
Following discussion of data-center moratoria, commissioners directed staff to determine which townships have village powers, prepare maps and template language, and coordinate with townships and corp counsel on adoption steps and timelines.

After reviewing the Cassville/Casco model ordinance, the planning commission agreed the more practical path is to ask individual townships to adopt a temporary moratorium while the county and townships finalize zoning. Staff member (speaker 8) said the county team is visiting townships, collecting existing ordinances and maps, and will prepare a package to share with township boards and corp counsel.
