The Police Department's August activity report showed 1,783 calls for service in August (14,172 year-to-date), 425 traffic stops in the month and 447 moving violations. The report also noted enforcement activity under a STEP grant, alcohol compliance checks with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, and training for field training officers.
