The committee voted to authorize Portage County to join the Wisconsin Local Government Climate Coalition after a short discussion on the coalition’s purpose and obligations. The county executive described the organization as a voluntary network: "the local government climate coalition is a collaborative amongst municipalities and counties," and said there is no financial obligation for membership. He also noted an upcoming in-person meeting in the Madison area and virtual forums for sharing ideas.
