Nevada County officials used a July 8 board meeting presentation to roll out steps for household wildfire preparedness and new digital tools aimed at speeding evacuations. Presenters urged residents to ‘‘Find Your 5’’—a trusted network of people who will check in during a disaster—and to prepare a 72‑hour go bag, harden homes against embers and create 100‑foot defensible space around structures.
