Commission approves EMA generator maintenance contract and adopts updated Emergency Operations Plan

The commission approved a one-year maintenance contract with SEC for under $18,000 to service tower-site generators and adopted an updated Emergency Operations Plan that removes a multi-jurisdiction hazardous communication plan and updates radio station listings.

County EMA Director LeighAnn Butler presented two agenda items: a recommended one-year maintenance agreement with SEC (Southern Electric Contractors, Inc.) for generators at each tower site and two portable units, and an updated Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Butler said SEC’s quote was under $18,000 and represented higher-quality service at a lower cost than the previous contract with Power Secure, which had been approximately $20,000.
